Our Review
If you’re currently paying through the roof for your credit card then consider switching to an All in One Halifax account. With a 0% p.a. interest rate on balance transfers for 15 months and also 0% p.a. on purchases for the first 15 months, it’s a great way to save money!
Who it’s for
The Halifax All in One credit card is best suited for consumers with a limited credit history or anyone looking to build one. If, however, you’re on a high salary and are looking to be rewarded for spending then look elsewhere.
Eligibility
The eligibility criteria for the All in One card is fairly lax – there’s no need for you to be earning 6 figures. You simply need to be earning a regular income, be a UK resident and like all credit cards, be over the age of 18.
Balance transfers
Halifax allow you to transfer in from any account, and offer a healthy 0% p.a. interest rate for 15 months. You will however, have to pay a 3% handling fee, which is the standard rate for the majority of credit cards. After the introductory period is over, the interest rate reverts to a fairly competitive rate of 17.95% p.a..
Purchases
The All in One Halifax credit card comes with an impressive 0% p.a. interest rate on all purchases for the first 15 months, giving you that much needed breathing space from interest charges. The rate thereafter is 17.95% p.a., which isn’t the best on the market, but is fine if you are only looking to use your credit card now and again and pay it off every month.
Cash advances
If you want to take cash out of an ATM then prepare yourself for the 27.95% p.a. interest rate. This particular rate is fairly poor, which is why it’s recommended that you don’t use your Halifax All in One credit card for cash withdrawals. Halifax will also charge a 3% fee when you use your card to withdraw cash.
Security & fraud protection
Halifax are renowned for implementing the very best technologies when it comes to credit card fraud and security. The All in One account is no exception as it comes with free cover against online fraud, giving you peace of mind that you’re protected should you lose money from unauthorised transactions carried out on the web. The Halifax All in One also comes with MasterCard’s SecureCode technology that adds an extra layer of security onto all your purchases carried out at selected online retailers.
If you are after payment protection or extra insurance on purchases then you may be disappointed. The All in Account only comes with very basic payment cover with no option to upgrade.
Conclusion
The Halifax All in One card is fantastic value for money. However, once the initial introductory period is over, be cautious of over-inflated interest rates and charges.
