With the M&S &more credit card you earn rewards when you spend, in the form of &more points which you can use to buy products at Marks and Spencer stores.
You'll earn on epoint for every pound you spend, which is doubled up to 2 points per pound if you're using your card at Marks and Spencer.
Other features include a high-ish standard rate of 15.9% typical APR, commission-free travel money, and an introductory balance transfer rate of 0% fixed for 6 months.
I have been very happy with my Marks & Spencer & More credit card. I received it quickly (under 2 weeks) after my application (just used the paper application form), and received a decent limit e.g. £3000 pounds instead of the laughable £400 that Barclaycard had given me. It's great to have the £'s certificates to spend at M&S, and they sure add up after you have paid for a holiday or something. I Recommend!
I am not sure I would recommend the Marks & Spencer & More credit card for 2 reasons. First, if you want to contact their customer service it's in India. I did this recently, and although they are very polite, it's difficult to get information over to them. When the person I talked to couldn't answer the question, he simply told me he was putting me on hold and cut me off. Secondly, don't be fooled by the points. I have spent hundreds of pounds and only received a couple of pounds in points. This is because if you spend in any shop that isn't M&S you only get half a point per £1 spent. Even in their own shop it is only 1 point per £1 spent. At 15.9% per annum interest rate, it isn't coming out as one of the best.
I recently applied for the &More credit card, but have now withdrawn my application due to frustration with service and concerns on security.
My card failed to arrive. M&S called me every day in the hopes of effecting a balance transfer onto the card, but they could not do that until the card had arrived, which it never did. They kept telling me to wait, and they would call back.
Eventually I persuaded them to call the courrier to trace the card. They use SMS, who I've had problems with before - frankly in my opinion they're a cowboy outfit and no bank should be using them. Apparently SMS claimed to have delivered the card and 'welcome pack' and obtained my signature for it. This was not true, but I checked anyway, turning my house upside down in case I was going mad. The next day, I spoke to M&S again to confirm that I did not have the card. They called SMS, and the new story was that the card may have been 'lost in the post'. It never went in the post - its supposed to be courriered.
M&S offered to cancel that card and send a new one - I declined and cancelled the application.
I also have security concerns - M&S staff failed on several occasions to identify where they were calling from, and could never offer any information to prove their identity before launching into requests for my date of birth, mother's maiden name etc. This is very poor given the number of identity frauds and password scams around these days.
Finally, the balance offered by M&S was less than half that which I have have on my other cards. When you're looking for balance transfers, what's the point?
It has been said that there is a "loophole" in M&S introductory period which allows you to effectively extend your 0% period by a further 6 months.
Apparently this is because when you make a balance transfer within the introductory period the BT will be charged at 0% from the date of the transfer.
So if you BT just before then end of your introductory period, you can get 6 months at 0% for that BT, effectively extending the 0% period by 6 months.
It seems that's what some have been told by M&S over the phone.
But has anyone actually experienced this - i.e. have you actually received one or more statements after your introductory period which show that you REALLY are still being charged 0% ?
I am coming near to the end of my intro period, and I'd like to try this but I'd prefer to have some proof that M&S really do this.
I've added extra balance transfers to my card twice since initially taking it out and had 6 months from date of transfer on each balance (i.e. 0% runs out on 3 different dates for 3 different amount of my debt, but the earliest-expiring one is the one that my direct debit payment goes towards (automatically)).

My friend transferred his balance from another card to the marks and spencer 0% 9 months period card.
This is due to run out in march and they have now decided that they are going to charge him 3.9% from now on. Surely this cannot be right if he signed up for a nine month period

When M&S ran this offer last May, they sent out a large number of 6 month offer credit agreements (which also omitted to include 0% on purchases) - instead of the advertised 9 months.
It was widely reported at the time.
Many people contacted M&S, and were told to modify the credit agreement, to say 9 months on both purchases & BT's, before signing and returning it.
Could this be the problem here?

At the bottom of my &MORE statement it says
"IMPORTANT
(1) Only ever making the minimum repayment will significantly increase the time taken to clear your balance and cost you more.
(2) Please note if you do not pay your present balance in full, interest will continue to be charged on the total value of your statement, not just on the outstanding balance.
(3) Interest is charged daily and therefore the earlier we receive your payment the less you will be charged"
I'm struggling to understand point 2 - it seems unreasonable and in conflict with pont 3. Does anyone know what it means?

If you pay balance in full every month you enjoy interest-free period on purchases (up to about 8 weeks) and don't pay any interest.
If you make minimum or partial payment you lose interest-free period, i.e. interest will be added on all purchases from the day of every transaction. You lose this interest-free period for the past month (the statement that you don't pay in full) and for the next month.

I work for m&s which will deal with all your credit card worry's!!.
Fistly i would like to say to matthew that i'm sorry he had a trouble getting his card, and as for his credit limit being half what he has with every one else we like every other financil company do a credit check and if you have aot of other cards with large limits on that will go against you, (how would you pay them all off!!)Secondaly i would like to say to carli that we could charge your friend what ever intrest we wanted at the end of the day we are a compny and what alot of people do not realise is that there is no such thing as FREE money.And yes we do have a call centre in India but there is also one in the UK if you ask the advisors in India they will transfer you through.
I firstly had trouble with the application (took out the card when buying furniture) - they kept resending me application forms for some reason expecting me to repeatedly fill them in.
Then, despite spending nearly £900 on furniture I never got any points. Took a few calls (and it was the India call centre) to sort that out.
Then I got my £9 in points, and some vouchers for 200 extra points on different dates, and 500 points online. Used one instore (got the points) but the ones I used on line still haven't appeared. I also got a email with a 750 points code. Used that, and again never got the points!
I called them and it took 30 minutes to get through to the person what the problem was (I'm quite frustrated now after the call). They still can't guarantee I'll get my points!
How annoying. I think I'll cancel the card, but I will complain first and try and get my points. It's just not good enough. I don't expect false promises from a company like M&S!
