Eagle Star offers excellent cover and service (on the telephone number below) with great discounts for public sector workers. They are not the cheapest but they include lots of extras and great service. Extras include £750 garden contents cover, replacement locks and keys if house keys are stolen, 10% extra cover for Christmas and wedding gifts, new for old replacement, 24 hour emergency home assistance line.
As our home insurance was due for renewal, I decided to try some of the online insurance quote services, Eagle Star being one that had been recommended to me previously. I spent over ten minutes loading the front page, managed to get half way through personal details and then suffered a barrage of error messages. I tried the process again but to no avail. It seems a shame that the service is online yet I was unable to benefit from the online service. In all, I spent well over thirty minutes just trying to load the various screens without success. We have gone for an insurance policy following a quotation over the telephone in the end as it has been much less hassle.
