The maximum ATM withdrawal is £300 per day.

Overdraft facilities are available subject to status.

An automatic overdraft facility is not available.

An interest and charge-free overdraft of up to £100 is available. On overdrafts of over £2,000 interest will be charged on the whole balance.

Halifax will provide 5 free replacement cards per account within a 12 month period. Requests for 6 replacement cards or more over a 12 month period (calculated from the date the account was opened) will incur a charge of £5.

Halifax's banking by phone is simple and convenient. The customer can: - Check their balance; - Get a mini statement; - Pay bills; - Transfer money to other Halifax accounts; - Transfer money to other organisations; - Set up or change standing orders; - Cancel direct debits; - Apply for an overdraft; - Get information on other Halifax products and services; - Request a new PIN.

The customer can switch their current bank account to the Halifax in 3 easy steps. They have a dedicated team who personally take care of all the paperwork. It is hassle-free, and there is always someone to help the customer every step of the way. Once the account has been opened, Halifax will contact the old bank to get a list of all standing orders and direct debits. They will then contact the organisations and give them the new account details, and contact the old bank to cancel the standing orders and direct debits. A list will be sent to the customer for confirmation.

Mini statements are available through the ATM. They will show details of the last 12 transactions.

This account offers 1% cashback (moneyback) tax free on debit card purchases. For qualifying VISA Debit transactions, made in the 12 months following account opening, Halifax will pay moneyback at the following rates: 1% of the value of the first £10,000.00 debit card purchases. 0.1% of the value of all other debit card purchases. Moneyback will be paid into the account on the anniversary of account opening. Payments of at least £1,000 must be made into the account every month to qualify for moneyback. Qualifying debit card purchases are goodsand services bought using the account card or the account number. The following transactions do not qualify:- obtaining cash, foreign currency or travellers cheques, the settlement of credit card bills, wire transfers of money orders, the purchase of stocks and shares.

Due to some adverse credit history My OH opened a halifax easy cash account 2 years ago to have his benefit paid into. For the last year he has been back in work bringing home between 2000 and 4000 pounds per month.

He went into our local branch last weekend to try and upgrade his account to a "normal" current account, they told him they would let him know their decision on monday. So far we have heard nothing so are assuming he has been refused, why???

He has just taken out a mortgage but has settled car finance that should have run for 4 years and we settled in 4 months.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated, its a real pain having to wait 2 weeks for cheques to clear!!

The halifax only upgrade on how the account is being run ie the amount of money going into it such as regular money and if you have any charges on the account they will not upgrade, we have tried this and have been told we must have no charges within a 6 month period ie direct debits not coming off.
